Building their brand around one of cocktail making's most intriguing ingredients, Jacob Taylor and Benny McKew from Mr Bitters are in constant search for the best ingredients to create bitters, which proves just right for enhancing the flavour profile of various cocktails.


By using a combination of much loved flavour matches, along with blending a variety of weird and wacky flavours together to form their experimental products, the boys are reinventing bitters, distancing the often misunderstood ingredient from its lemon lime and bitters typecast and allowing it to shine through in creative cocktails of all varieties.


So we asked the gentlemen behind Mr Bitters to create a fun cocktail that's easy to make at home and truly celebrates this humble, remarkably versatile ingredient.


Mr Bitter's Arandas Fizz

  • 60ml Tromba blanco tequila
  • 30ml lemon juice
  • 15ml agave syrup
  • 3 dashes grapefruit bitters
  • soda water


Shake the tequila, lemon juice and agave syrup over ice, and then strain into an ice filled glass. Finish off by topping up with soda water and garnish with a big grapefruit twist.
